Gemotions

Liam sat on the porch swing, the late afternoon sun warm on his skin. He had his phone propped up on his knee, the real estate listing open. The house was as he recalled, the paint faded, the garden overgrown. He smiled to himself as he clicked through the pictures.

He let out a long, slow breath. The memories were flooding back, pleasant and uncomplicated. He remembered hiding in the attic during thunderstorms, playing board games in front of the fireplace, family dinners around the kitchen table.

He closed his eyes for a moment, a sense of peace settling over him. It was just a house, he knew, but it was also so much more. He found himself imagining the house, how it looked and felt.
